they waited for the media to leave.
they went in at 1:30am.
they arrested over 100 people.
they shoved, beat and dragged veterans and other protesters.
then when everyone was gone, they threw the remains of the camp into dumpsters.
don’t forget this. spread it. signal boost.
watched this from a balcony stream of this live as people were dragged away from the scene and tents were cleared. this is nuts.
Here’s a link to a video of the Boston Police making arrests and beating the Veterans for Peace.

Original Post:
As Occupy Boston has grown, the initial area of the occupation has become overcrowded with tents and people. The original encampment is in Dewey Square Park, the southernmost end of the Rose Kennedy Greenway, the ribbon of parks created when Boston’s expressway was put underground by the Big Dig. In a spontaneous, autonomous action, a large number of occupiers moved into the next section of the Greenway, the area bordered by Congress, Purchase, and Pearl Streets, and Atlantic Avenue on the south. A subsequent proposal to officially ratify the expanded presence was adopted by consensus at a General Assembly held in the new space.
The Greenway conservancy has requested that we not occupy the additional parcel, or if we will be staying anyway, to please be careful of the condition of the park and the new plantings that have recently been added. Police have said that occupiers may not expand into the new area, and have threatened to arrest people who do not leave the area. Large numbers of police officers are amassing near the Occupy Boston site, with equipment and transportation for a possible mass arrest. As of 1:15 am, protesters remain arm-in-arm, chanting and dedicated to holding this new space. So far, Boston Police have not made any moves.
The BPD and Occupy Boston have so far enjoyed excellent relations and mutual respect. This new development is putting that relationship to the test. We will keep you updated.

They’ve set up a tent with EMTs in it to deal with any injuries, even though the protesters are dead set on staying non-violent, and cops are showing up in full riot gear with batons and plastic cuffs. If even one person can call the Boston PD here - (617) 343-4200 - and tell them that you support “Occupy Boston,” it would help make a world of difference.
We are the 99%.
Looks like there’s about to be the biggest mass arrest Massachusetts has had in… a long time.
